Cameron denies U-turn over NHS reforms

The Prime Minister says it is not a U-turn but he has confirmed that the government is accepting all of the major changes suggested by an independent panel of experts to its controversial plans to restructure the NHS in England.

That includes tighter controls over competition within the health service and slowing down the pace of change.

Labour says the original plans have been demolished but David Cameron says the government has listened, learned and is now improving its plans.
