Nick Clegg warns the global economic situation is deteriorating

Nick Clegg has warned that the global economic situation is "deteriorating" but he promised the government would do more to improve growth in the UK.

Speaking at the London School of Economics, the deputy prime minister said the economic situation "is worse even than just six months ago".

He denied the government was helpless to improve the situation and said "there are levers we can pull to stimulate growth".
