William Hague: Tories in tune with people on EU
William Hague has told the Conservative Party conference the party's approach to the EU is "in tune with the instincts of the British people".
The foreign secretary told delegates in Manchester the party was "preventing the EU from acting to our disadvantage, but also by making sure it works to our advantage".
But he added: "The EU has more power in our national life than it should, and I believe as strongly as I ever have that when the right moments come this party should set out to reduce it."
