Will government hit migration and immigration target?

The government has said it is committed to a reduction in the net number of people coming into the UK each year but there are fears the target will not be met.

The Home Office, external said in a statement after the programme: "We have put a limit in place on the number of non-EU economic migrants coming to the UK to work. We have also reformed the student route and will shortly be announcing changes to the family and settlement routes."
