Tom Watson: 'Leveson may make interim findings'

The Labour MP Tom Watson has told the Daily Politics that Lord Leveson may have to produce interim findings and not wait a year until he produces his full report.

The inquiry is into the culture, practice and ethics of the press. Part one of the inquiry began on 14 November at the High Court in London.

Mr Watson, who has become a high-profile campaigner against phone hacking, said that the time required for the inquiry to finish "depends on where the criminal investigation goes".

Foreign office minister Jeremy Browne also spoke to Andrew Neil about the inquiry.
