Aidan Burley MP, from the Conservative Trade Union Reform Campaign, said it was time to end the "Spanish practice" with £130m spent on the posts, but Labour MP Rachel Reeves defended the roles and her union links.

Work and Pensions minister Chris Grayling said he wanted the positions gone. His DWP has 308 people in such roles.
