Portillo: Europe 'destroyed' Heath, Thatcher and Major

Europe was a bomb under the Conservative Party and had "already destroyed" Ted Heath, Margaret Thatcher, and John Major, said Michael Portillo.

And the former defence secretary claimed there was "no reason to think it won't destroy David Cameron" as he debated Tim Montgmerie's film and its eurosceptic message to the prime minister as European leaders begin talks in Brussels.

Andrew Neil and Jacqui Smith were also part of the studio debate on Europe and the euro currency.
