Prime Minister David Cameron meets MPs after EU veto
Chancellor George Osborne has said that David Cameron's decision to veto changes to the European Union treaty has "helped protect Britain's economic interests".
His comments came after the prime minister met a cross-section of Tory MPs at his official country residence Chequers on Friday night.
Mr Cameron blocked changes to the EU's Lisbon Treaty at an EU summit that ended in Brussels on Friday, a move that critics have warned risks isolating the UK from Europe.
