Labour wins Feltham by-election

Winning candidate Seema Malhotra has welcomed a "vote of confidence in the way Labour is changing" after the party held the Feltham and Heston seat, with an 8% swing from the Conservatives.

She said that the "people of Feltham and Heston know the coalition is failing".

The by-election was caused by the death of former Labour MP Alan Keen last month.

Turnout for the by-election was estimated to be 28.8%.
