UKIP candidate Lawrence Webb on crime and pub policies
The UKIP candidate for London mayor backed smoking in pubs - to halt closures of licensed premises - even though he would not have the power to bring in the change.
Lawrence Webb said he was "creating a vision", which would include extending the power of arrest for citizens who step in to stop crime, who may now fear arrest if they tried to intervene.
He said UKIP poll ratings in the mayoral race had risen above the Greens and within 1% of the Liberal Democrats, as seven candidates fight for votes in the 3 May election.
