Elections 2012: Strong Labour results in nations

Labour has made big gains in the elections in Wales and Scotland, the best results for the party in Wales since local government was reorganised in 1996.

In Scotland, the SNP won seats across the 32 authorities, but Labour won in Edinburgh and Glasgow - while the Liberal Democrat vote collapsed.

Brian Taylor reports from Glasgow, while Betsan Powys is in Cardiff.
