George Osborne's full interview with Andrew Marr

The chancellor said he was proposing a balanced plan to help the UK economy while some wanted him to cut faster, and a few "on the margin" did not want any cuts.

George Osborne said "the economy was not growing as we wanted to" and some things have gone wrong, but efforts were going into making banks lend, enterprise flourish and help young people get jobs.

Andrew Marr also asked him about the fallout from Thursday's local election results where coalition parties lost hundreds of seats, the latest attack on the party leadership from backbencher Nadine Dorries and the French elections.
