Andy Coulson denies politicians and News International were too close

The former News Of The World editor Andy Coulson has denied that Rupert Murdoch's papers had excessively close links with the government.

Mr Coulson later became Prime Minister David Cameron's press adviser but resigned over phone hacking allegations.

He was giving evidence to the Leveson Inquiry into press standards.
