London 2012: Hunt on G4S and security staff shortage

The culture secretary said G4S was telling the government "right up until last week that everything was on track".

Jeremy Hunt said there would be 11,000 troops helping to make it a "very safe Olympics", but added it was "completely normal that you are going find some contractors on a project of this size who are not able to deliver what they promised" .

He said newspapers headlines had not "reflected the reality" of the Olympic project, which had seen cross-party political cooperation and there was a lot to look forward to over the summer.
