Menzies Campbell on Lords reform and coalition future
Sir Menzies Campbell said it was "not pick-and-mix" when it came to Conservatives failing to back House of Lords reform, and both parties had to back coalition policies.
The former Liberal Democrat leader claimed opinion polls showed 70% of the public backed democratic reform of the upper house.
He said it was not in the interest of either side of the coalition to break up, which would lead to a general election, as his party was "not top of the opinion polls" and the Conservatives were 10% behind Labour.
Asked if his party was still talking to Labour about a future deal, he said: "Well, I am not."
