Ed Miliband urges banking bonus tax to build houses

The Labour leader Ed Miliband has criticised the government's "one-year holiday from the current rules on planning for a conservatory extension".

He said the coalition's relaxation of planning laws to let people build up to eight metres into a garden did "not represent an economic plan".

He urged a taxation of bankers' bonuses, with some of the money raised being used to build new houses.
