Andy Burnham: 'The full horror of Hillsborough revealed'
The MP who called for an inquiry into the 1989 Hillsborough disaster has welcomed its report, criticising what he called "a monumental cover-up".
Andy Burnham told MPs that the findings exposed "a catalogue of negligence, appalling failure and sheer mendacity". Ninety-six fans died after a crush at Sheffield Wednesday's ground.
The report, by the Hillsborough Independent Panel, showed police and emergency services made "strenuous attempts" to deflect the blame for the disaster on to innocent fans.
