Racism in football: Garth Crooks and Therese Coffey MP

There is still "work to be done" to tackle racism in football, said Garth Crooks, a former player who commentates on the game.

He said it has taken government action to clamp down on the problem and football "should not see it itself any different to any other employer".

A Culture, Media and Sport Committee report said the Football Association need to take more action after recent high profile cases of ex-England captain John Terry and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

Committee member Therese Coffey said the court cases show "racism has not gone away". She spoke of actions that were helping including training of stewards at games and exclusions from grounds.
