Nick Clegg: Rich must pay fair share in tax

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has said he is determined to continue efforts to "make people at the top make a fair contribution... to balancing the books".

Speaking to the Andrew Marr Show, Mr Clegg said that he would keep pushing for higher taxes on the wealthiest members of society in what were challenging economic times.

But he admitted that he had failed to convince his Conservative coalition partners to support the Lib Dem idea of a "mansion tax" on properties of a high value.
