PMQs: David Cameron on UK referendum and EU membership

David Cameron said he did not want an "in-out referendum" on the UK's future in the European Union.

The prime minister said he would not be happy with Britain leaving the EU, but also "not happy with the status quo either".

He claimed that most people in Britain "wanted a new settlement put to fresh consent" and he claimed it would get a "ringing endorsement" when it went in his party's election manifesto.
