David Cameron: 'BBC must answer questions on Savile'
David Cameron has called on the BBC to "get to the bottom" of allegations that the DJ and presenter Jimmy Savile sexually abused many people, including young girls, over a 40-year period - sometimes on BBC premises.
At an event in London, the prime minister said that "every organisation that was involved with him" had to establish the facts of what had happened.
His comments come as the Corporation announced that the Newsnight editor responsible for dropping a report into Savile is stepping aside.
A special Panorama programme into the Newsnight case is to be broadcast in the UK on BBC1 at 2235 BST on Monday.
