Justice and Security Bill: Ken Clarke on secret courts
Ken Clarke has defended government plans to hold some court cases involving national security in private, and said he was confident the bill would get through Parliament.
The former justice secretary said some cases were "too dangerous" to hear in public because of the risk of revealing secret intelligence in open court.
Speaking to Carole Walker on the Daily Politics about his Justice and Security Bill, Mr Clarke said: "We need spies in these dangerous times".
They also spoke about Chris Grayling taking over his former post and whether that had led to changes in policies on law and order.
