Davis wants EU powers referendum
The Conservative backbencher David Davis has said that the UK's negotiating lever in Europe has been "cut to smithereens".
Speaking on the Andrew Marr Show he said there would be a referendum on Europe as the public would "demand" it.
Davis suggested that David Cameron needed to come up with a list of powers that the Government wanted repatriated from Europe and offer that to the general public against the option to pull out entirely.
He said this could then be taken to the EU as a strong negotiating lever.
