England and Wales census: population and migration rise

The population of England and Wales rose by 3.5 million people over a decade, mainly due to migration, the latest figures for the 2011 census show.

They also show the two nations have become more ethnically diverse since 2001, and the number of people who said they were "mixed race" rose by 50% over ten years.

Giles Dilnot reports on some of the figures, and their relevance in a fast-moving world.
