Gay marriage support growing says Tory MP Nick Herbert

Attitudes have changed and support is growing for gay marriage, the former policing minister Nick Herbert has said.

The Conservative MP claimed allowing same-sex marriage would "fully complete the journey of equality", following the introduction of civil partnerships.

The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill will be debated in Parliament on 5 February, and Mr Herbert reckoned most MPs would vote for it, with his own party "divided roughly down the middle".
