Former Chancellor Lord Lawson: 'Britain should leave EU'

The former Conservative Chancellor Lord Lawson has said Britain should leave the EU.

In an article for the Times, he says any changes that the Prime Minister is able to negotiate on Britain's relationship with the EU would be inconsequential - and if there were a referendum in 2017, he would vote to leave.

Conservative ministers have said the government will publish a draft Bill to underline David Cameron's commitment to hold a referendum in the next Parliament.
