EU vote: 130 MPs express doubts
More than 130 MPs have backed an amendment to the Queen's Speech "expressing regret" that plans for an EU referendum were not included in the government's plans for the year ahead.
Eurosceptic Tories forced the vote as part of efforts to make David Cameron's pledge for a poll in 2017 binding.
Some Tory ministers abstained but the amendment was defeated as others joined the Lib Dems and Labour to oppose it.
The vote came at the end of a week of Tory wrangling over the issue.
