Labour's Ed Miliband: 'Unite's Len McCluskey must take responsibility'
The general-secretary of the Unite union, Len McCluskey, should "face up to his responsibilities" over a growing scandal surrounding the selection of a candidate to represent Falkirk in the 2015 general election, the Labour leader has said.
Ed Miliband has accused Mr McCluskey of attempting to influence the process by signing up new party members without them knowing and of signing up members on condition of supporting particular candidates.
Mr McCluskey, whose Unite union is Labour's biggest union backer, has denied the allegations and says he has "no trust" in the party leadership.
