David Cameron defends 'robust' school uniform policies

David Cameron has defended "robust" school uniform policies, after being challenged over their rising cost at Prime Minister's Questions.

Labour's Barbara Keeley said free schools and academies were insisting on branded clothing, driving many parents to take out loans.

The prime minister said it was right for schools to set their own policy on uniforms, and accused Ms Keeley of "trying to find a way to oppose free schools".
