Universal credit 'is progressing' - Iain Duncan Smith
The performance of the universal credit programme has been defended by the work and pensions secretary.
Iain Duncan Smith told the House of Commons that he acknowledged a report by the National Audit Office that criticised the scheme, and had addressed the concerns raised.
Mr Duncan Smith said the welfare reforms were not just about setting-up a working IT system, which had suffered glitches, but about achieving cultural change.
