David Cameron defends recalling Parliament for Syria vote

David Cameron, who has arrived in Russia for the G20 summit of world leaders, has defended his decision to recall Parliament to vote on possible UK military action over Syria.

International leaders have arrived in St Petersburg for the meeting, where Syria was expected to dominate the negotiations.

The prime minister has ruled out UK involvement in military action after MPs voted against it last week.

In an interview with the BBC's Nick Robinson, Mr Cameron also said that the UK has fresh evidence of the use of chemical weapons in Damascus.
