Labour conference: Alexander on UK's international role

The UK should embark on a "new era of interventional cooperation", said Douglas Alexander, as he called for a strengthening of Nato and deeper partnerships with Asia.

The shadow foreign secretary said it was time to "lead reforms of Europe and its institutions", but claimed the Conservatives "don't get that, and never will".
