UK involvement in renditions 'a very serious matter'

There is evidence to suggest Britain was inappropriately involved in the rendition and ill-treatment of terror suspects, an inquiry has found.

Retired judge Sir Peter Gibson reviewed 20,000 top secret documents relating to wrongdoing by MI5 and MI6 officers.

He said any British involvement in renditions was "a very serious matter".
