Help to Buy: 'Rating agency has serious worries'

A leading credit rating agency, Standard & Poor's, is expressing "serious worries" over the Help to Buy scheme, according to Vince Cable.

The second phase of the government scheme was launched in November for people who are trying to get on the housing ladder who can afford mortgage repayments but are struggling to raise a deposit.

The business secretary also told The Andrew Marr Show that the Liberal Democrats would push for "a fairer tax system" at the next general election, which he said was in the "opposite direction" to the Conservatives.
