Maude denies Universal Credit rift with Duncan Smith

Claims of a rift between two government departments over Universal Credit were "simply incorrect", said Francis Maude.

The Cabinet Office minister said the plan for benefit changes were an "exceptionally powerful visionary policy" and he was working well with Iain Duncan Smith.

The Guardian, external claimed minutes of a Whitehall meeting showed there were frictions between them.
