Splash diving MP Penny Mordaunt on Tom Daley show

An MP relived her moment diving in to a swimming pool on TV and admitted "it hurt a bit" as she hit the water.

Penny Mordaunt said her appearance on ITV's Splash! has raised money for projects in her Portsmouth constituency and presenter Tom Daley will now help with a project reopening a lido.

She spoke to Andrew Neil on the Daily Politics about why MPs appearing on reality TV programmes get a hard press, but said she had been treated more sympathetically.
