MPs on Westminster life: Charlotte Leslie and Meg Munn

A Conservative MP compared life at Westminster with being a "sheep going through a sheep dip", and said party whips were able to "bully the workforce".

Charlotte Leslie, who will defend her Bristol North West seat in the 2015 general election, said promotions were "so obviously, and openly, not based on merit, but based on other considerations".

And she told the Daily Politics that MPs "think it is clever" to go on TV and not answer questions, and added: "I can see why people don't like politicians, and I am one."

Giles Dilnot also spoke to Labour MP Meg Munn, who will stand down after 14 years, and suggested MPs should be able to spend one week a month in their constituency.
