UKIP voters: Author Matthew Goodwin on party research
UKIP is a "symptom of division within our society", says an author who has looked into where the party's support comes from.
Matthew Goodwin has written a book on UKIP's rise in British politics, after tracking 6,000 voters, and has found people who feel "left behind" in the UK economic crisis.
He spoke Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics, along with Tim Montgomerie of The Times, about UKIP voters being former Tory and Labour supporters, and the importance of a referendum debate and European issues to them.
