Basingstoke councillors on Maria Miller resignation
Maria Miller should not have resigned over "unfounded" allegations, said Tory councillor Elaine Still in Basingstoke, where the former culture secretary is the MP.
The councillor claimed there had "been a lack of understanding", and the MP had the full support of people who heard the full story.
But UKIP councillor Ray Finch said "her own party deserted her" and people would have been more understanding if Mrs Miller had repaid more money sooner.
They spoke to Giles Dilnot on the Daily Politics, hours after Mrs Miller announced her resignation.
