Maria Miller expenses row: 'Public right to judge her' - Sajid Javid

Former Culture Secretary Maria Miller "did do something wrong" and the public were right to judge her, the man who has replaced her has said.

Speaking on the BBC's Question Time, Sajid Javid said Mrs Miller had been cleared of the allegation that her parents were profiting at the taxpayers' expense but that she had quit when she realised she was becoming a "distraction".

He also defended the right of the media to investigate wrong-doing by politicians.
