Natalie Bennett on Green Party local election launch

Electors are turning to the Green Party whose councillors are "in it for the long-haul", said the party leader.

Natalie Bennett spoke of "steady growth... from a very solid base" for the party", and predicted gains in London, Liverpool, Oxford and Bristol in the English local elections on 22 May.

The leader claimed "quite a few" councillors elected for UKIP had since left the party when asked why that party appeared to be gaining protest votes.

On the Daily Politics, Jo Coburn asked her what voters would think about the running of Brighton and Hove Council, which has been run by a minority Green administration.
