Queen's Speech: Voters 'disenchanted' - Ed Miliband

Labour leader Ed Miliband responded to the Queen's Speech by saying that Parliament must face the challenge of "disenchanted" voters.

Speaking in the House of Commons, he warned of "a depth and scale of disenchantment that we ignore at our peril".

He said that Labour supported several of the measures in the government's legislative programme, including tackling modern slavery, an ombudsman for the armed forces, and the recall of MPs.

He added: "But the big question for this Queen's Speech is whether it just offers more of the same."
