Westminster abuse report: Vaz surprised by scale of missing files
The re-examination of a report into child abuse allegations at Westminster must be entirely independent of Parliament, the chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee has said.
Labour MP Keith Vaz told the BBC that it was "no surprise" that the Home Office had lost files relating to the abuse claims in the 1980s.
But he said the fact that a total of 114 files were missing is a "loss on an industrial scale".
