Douglas Carswell says PM is 'not serious about change'
Conservative MP Douglas Carswell has announced that he is to join the UK Independence Party and will stand down as MP for Clacton to seek re-election in a by-election.
If he wins the support of voters he will be the first elected UK Independence Party MP in the Commons.
The maverick Eurosceptic backbencher said he wanted to "shake up" the cosy Westminster "clique".
He told the BBC's Sean Curran that while he thought David Cameron was "decent" he believed he was not "serious about change".
