UKIP leader Nigel Farage to run for parliamentary seat

The UKIP leader Nigel Farage has been chosen by members of his party as their candidate for the South Thanet parliamentary seat.

He beat three other UKIP candidates in the hustings vote, which was held in Ramsgate in the east Kent constituency.

If successfully elected in the 2015 general election, he would become the party's first MP.

Jim Reed reports from Ramsgate for BBC Newsnight.
