Chuka Umunna on unions, Trident and immigration
Labour's link with the trade unions is "absolutely where it should be" said the shadow business secretary.
Chuka Umunna was responding to a Sunday Politics survey where 73 of their parliamentary hopefuls backed its stance on immigration and spending, but called for Trident to be scrapped, and nearly a third said its relationship with the trade unions was not close enough.
Mr Umunna said the BBC/Comres survey showed the respondents had "centrist positions" which he reckoned would be supported by viewers.
But he also told Andrew Neil, he was treating the findings "with a bit of caution" as it relied on 73 out of 400 new prospective Parliamentary candidates, who were not sitting MPs.Full BBC/Comres survey results, external
