MPs on UK military action against Islamic State (IS)

MPs may be recalled to Parliament in the coming days to debate the UK joining in military action against Islamic State (IS) militants.

Andrew Neil got backbench reaction to what the UK could, or should do, after the US and five Arab nations launched a campaign of air strikes.

Conservative MP John Baron said of the UK role in previous conflicts: "We have not covered ourselves in glory."

Labour MP John Woodcock reckoned military action was "going to be necessary" and he called on Iraq and Syria's neighbours to take a lead.
