Ed Miliband confident Labour can win the next election

Ed Miliband has said he can deal with personal criticisms levelled at him and is confident he can lead the Labour Party to a general election victory.

Speaking in central London, he said he had learned the meaning of the phrase 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' following reports that some Labour figures wanted him to step down.

He added: "I am willing to put up with whatever is thrown at me in order to fight for you."
