Basildon voters on former UKIP candidate's Kerry Smith's remarks?
UKIP's general election candidate for Basildon in Essex has resigned, after he was recorded using racist and homophobic language.
Kerry Smith issued a "wholehearted and unreserved apology" and the party said his resignation showed UKIP had 'grown up'.
