Parties trade blows as election campaigning steps up

Prime Minister David Cameron has defended his government's record as the parties stepped up their campaigning ahead of the general election.

Mr Cameron said that Britain's economic recovery is at risk from Labour, who would "borrow, spend and tax all over again, putting us back to square one."

Labour said that these were "desperate claims, from a desperate prime minister."
